in Conwy….

  1. Llanfairfechan Beach – pebbly beach with sand revealed at low tide. Leads onto marshy Nature Reserve. Local facilities, part seasonal dog ban.
  2. Penmaenmawr Beach – pebbly beach with some sand sand not at low tide. A bit too close to A55 to make it in any way peaceful. Facilities but dog friendly.
  3. Conwy Morfa Beach – lovely long crescent of pebble and Nature Reserve backed beach on outskirts of Conwy. Car park and seasonal facilities.
  4. Melyn Beach, Deganwy – stony stretch of beach with low tide sand, facilities and parking on Promenade.

  7. Penrhyn Bay – pebble backed with low tide sand. Busy as surrounded by holiday parks. Seasonal dog ban on part of the beach.
  8. Rhos-on-Sea – Pretty little harbour beach though maybe a bit muddy. Little church on promenade worth a visit. Facilities and dog friendly.
  9. Colwyn Bay – busy stretch of soft sand backed with promenade and plenty of seaside facilities. Interesting sculpture above main beach. Seasonal dog ban on part of the beach.
  10. Old Colwyn – backed with concrete sea defences this beach appeared to be closed off to the public but not sure why? Safe enough to play on the low tide sand.
  11. Llandulas – Pebble beach with some sand at very low tides. Car park but other facilities in village. Dog friendly.
  12. Abergele – busy small seaside town with a pebble backed beach with low tide stretches of sand. Facilities in town.
  13. Kinmel Bay, Abergele – again stone backed with low tide sands but also a lot of water in sandy pools on the beach – ok for bare feet and wellies! Seasonal dog ban on part of beach and backed by holiday parks so probably very busy in the summer.
