  1. Borth-y-Gest – pretty little sheltered bay, a bit muddy rather around the river and elsewhere – good for kayaking but not for beach or swimming. Facilities but dog friendly. Nice for a stroll.
  2. Pen y Banc – pretty little low tide sandy cove within the Pen y Banc Nature Reserve, along the CP from Borth-y-Gest. No facilities but dog friendly. Highly recommended.
  3. Carreg Wen – lovely sheltered sandy cove. No facilities but dog friendly. Recommended.
  4. Ynys Cyngar – beautiful sheltered sandy cove backed by golf course. Facilities at main beach. Dog friendly. Recommended.
  5. Morgan Bychan or Black Rock Beach – windy long stretch of sandy beach- popular for wind sports and with families. Easily accessible with facilities to hand. Horse and traps for hire on beach. Dog friendly.
  6. Criccieth Beach – pebbly with patches of course sand this crescent shaped beach is backed by the town. Facilities in town. Seasonal dog ban on parts.
  7. Marine Beach, Criccieth – beyond the castle a long mostly pebble beach stretches for a mile or so. Facilities in town and dog friendly.
  8. Afon Wen Beach – Another pebbly beach but with quite a bit of course sand runs from the river to a holiday park. No facilities but dog friendly.
  9. Aberarch Sands – mostly sandy but quite windy stretch of sand, backed by holiday park so busy in season. Small car park but no other facilities. Dog friendly.
  10. Glan-y-mor – end of 9 leading into Pwllheli from mostly sandy to pebbly. No near facilities but dog friendly.
  11. Crugan Beach – long strip of pebbly sand from Pwllheli – quiet at far end as no facilities. Seasonal dog ban near town only. Recommended.
  12. Llanbedrog – lovely sheltered wood backed sandy bay- NT facilities and trendy bar on the beach. Very popular. Dog friendly. Recommended.
  13. Warren Beach, Abersoch – long sandy beach leading into sandy estuary at Abersoch. Popular for water sports. Holiday parks along shoreline so busy during summer. Part seasonal dog ban. Parking in Abersoch (expensive) or lay by up above The Warrens. Facilities in Holiday Park. Highly recommended.
  14. Abersoch Estuary – pretty estuary beach, very sandy at Mouth, slightly muddy further inland. Town parking and facilities. Buzzy town with some lovely shops.
  15. Abersoch Town Beach – around the headland from the estuary thus coarse sandy beach lined with beach huts. Facilities but also close to town. Part subject to seasonal dog ban.
  16. Marchros Beach, Abersoch – leading on from town beach to form a wide crescent bay with calm and shallow waters. Facilities and dog friendly. Recommended.
  17. Porth Ceriad – beautiful sandy bay, very remote though small chargeable car park at holiday park about a mile from beach. No facilities but dog friendly. Highly recommended.
  18. Hell’s Mouth Bay – wide stretch of mostly sandy, dune backed bay. Remote with no facilities apart from car park. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.
  19. Aberdaron – pretty little coastal harbour and beach village with eateries, NT parking and toilets. Very popular. Mostly sand crescent shaped beach. Seasonal dog ban on part. Recommended.
  20. Whistling Sands – remote NT beach (NT car park, shop, cafe and toilets) very popular with beautiful white (squeaky) sand. Dog friendly. Lovely shallow clear waters. Highly recommended.
  21. Penllech – Fabulous remote long and deep sandy beach though mostly covered at high tides. No facilities and some parking up on the roadside about half a mile away. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.
  22. Porth Gwylan – remote little pebble with low tide sheltered cove – small car park above but no other facilities. Dog friendly. Great hideaway! Highly recommended.
  23. Porth Towyn – remote apart from cliff top campsite. Sheltered sandy cove very busy peak otherwise ideal. No facilities. Dog friendly. Recommended.
  24. Lifeboat Beach, Porthdinllaen – small little sandy coves either side of the lifeboat station. No facilities but dog friendly.
  25. Porthdinllaen Beach – fabulous sweep of sheltered sandy bay with rock pools. No parking but pub and toilets on the beach. Very pretty but also popular. Dog friendly. Recommended.
  26. Morfa Nefyn Bay – just around a rocky outcrop from Porthdinllaen lovely sandy beach with rocky outcrops. No facilities but dog friendly. Highly recommended.
  27. Porth Nefyn – lovely long crescent sandy beach. Few facilities in village. Far end of beach quiet and unspoilt. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.
  28. Trefor Bay – Pretty sheltered bay, mostly pebbly but with some low tide sand. Warm shallow waters good for kayaking. Some parking and few facilities in village about a mile away.
  29. Aberdesach – mostly stony thin stretch of beach at high tides with more sands exposed as the tide recedes. No facilities but car parking. Dog friendly.
  30. Pontlyfni – small stony beach with sand exposed at lower tides. No parking or facilities but small seasonal holiday park nearby. Dog friendly.
  31. Dinas Dinlle – long stretch of sand and pebble backed beach. Quite exposed to the elements but good for a bracing dog walk. Facilities and dog friendly. Recommended.
